Felicia,

Thanks for your input. Your perspective is a valuable one in this matter.

As mentioned in my post, I sincerely hope that Dr. Tobinick's treatment proves to have merit.

Thanks again, and I hope for the best with your mom!

I have taken my Mom in for the treatment. She has now had six injections and is becoming her old self again. Her ADL(activities of daily living) have increased tremendously. I have a before and after video of her on youtube.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=OhTtJkN3o2Y
Also, an explanation of the treatment:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=rAZhX7LEZeU
All I keep hearing is "we need more research", every where I turn, no matter what I say, that is all I hear. The Alz Assoc Forum has many people posting about their experiences with the success of the treatment. I am so sick of all the skepticism. The case study he did involvoed 15 patients. 100% of them improved -- 100%. What were the controls --THEY HAVE ALZHEIMER'S! Why didn't he do more? He was using his own money, this was a case study not a clinical trial. The drug company Amgen should have funded the trial. They won't because their patent runs out in four years and they would not make their 50 million dollars back from doing the clinical trial. They have turned their heads and looked the other way so that they can get in bed with Wyeth and do the new clinical trial on a different drug...which hasn't shown anywhere near the result perispinal etanercept has, if any. Unbelievable! You said many good things about Dr. T, and I can tell you all of the good things were true. I can also tell you that the criticism is lacking in facts. He has tried for many years to do this the "right way" and nobody is listening. Our only hope for insurance apporval of this treatment, is to get the word out, train doctors, and treat patients. It's real. He is getting new patients everyday, it's just taking a while because the "right way" was not available to him. He is a brilliant man, and I pray that he doesn't get too discouraged from all the attacks to stop his research. He is a dermatologist, and he has dedicated his life to research. He has saved my Mom's life, at least her quality of life till the day she dies, which is what matters most.

Thank you, Felicia McColl

Good critiquie Dr. Sam.

my family was going to consult with Dr. Tobinick about my father. We had MANY conversations with his staff via phone and email and they would not give us a clear picture of pricing. There is something unethical and lacking in our experiences with them.

we will be posting more details on this blog. http://istobinickmethodethical.blogspot.com/

i feel it is important to get this information out.

right now, as you allude to, he is giving the perception of not being a thorough scientific researcher who is interested in advancing the field. he DOES appear to be interested in making a quick buck and preying on wealthy and desperate patients.

SHAME ON THEM!

Hi Snugpharma,

Thanks for the feedback.

From what I've been able to see, I sort of get the impression that Dr. Tobinick is perhaps doing a pretty good job of bringing himself into the spotlight.

It does appear that he is exploring quite a number of different uses for this medication and while I am a big fan of research and applaud anyone's efforts to find answers to important questions, I do still have some reservations about the details of how his research is being carried out.

As I mentioned in the original post, I sincerely hope he is onto something with the use of Etanercept for AD. For that matter, I hope he finds all sorts of great and effective uses for this medication.

That said, as mentioned above, I do have some concerns and reservations.

If there is a particular link (or links) in those google search results, which you'd like me to take a look at and comment on, please let me know and I'll do so.

Again, thanks for your thoughts!

Dr. Sam, I am impressed, but there is a lot more to Dr. Tobinick. It would appear to me that the world has yet to comprehend the versatility that Dr. Tobinick has used Etanercept (Enbrel)in his own unique ways(patents by tobinick) as Off-Label use for a good number of years for Disc Injury, Cancer, Alzheimer's disease. This Google link 'Tobinick' reveals links to some stimulating reading on Dr. Tobinick over the years. http://www.google.ie/search?q=tobinick&hl=en&start=70&sa=N We should do our best to bring the person Dr. Tobinick into the spotlight. This latest paper has received worldwide TV News, Newspapers and full Electronic Media coverage. Dr. Sam, I would appreciate if you could find the time to review files in the link and provide us with your comments. The Alzheimer's disease patients and carers must hear more! snug
